Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Commencement of Term 2 2025

Happy Easter to everyone. It has been great to be able to welcome all students back in the joy of the Easter Season.

On Thursday, 24 April 2025 we celebrated Easter together with a Prayer Service in the Auditorium run by our senior Youth Ministry students. It was a blessing for us to be able to reflect on the resurrection of Our Lord, as well as our theme of 2025 Pilgrims of Hope, our Holy Father the Pope Francis and the upcoming Australian Catholic Youth Festival. We prayed that we can be like Pope Francis and be people of faith, hope and deep care for others, especially those in need.

During the Prayer Service students were encouraged, in this Easter season of new life and hope and as we start a new term, to begin afresh and make some small decisions to grow and improve.  We also discussed growing in gratitude for all we have in the footsteps of the late Holy Father, Pope Francis.

Child Safety

We continue to work as a school in the most important area. All excursions and off campus activities have Child Safety as the number one point of our risk assessment. The Child Safety Team which meets fortnightly will have a meeting later in the term that will include an open invitation for parents to contribute. The details for the term 2 meeting will be sent in coming newsletters.

Uniform

A big thank you to the parents and family members supporting our students with the preparation of college uniforms. The students are in winter uniform for Terms 2 and 3, 2025.  A reminder that students are to wear their blazer to and from school with the winter uniform. We thank you for your support.

Home and School Unity

Research has shown that schools and families working together have the best outcomes for student learning and wellbeing. We continue to invite parents, guardians and carers to contact Pastoral Teachers and Subject Teachers if there are any concerns, issues, questions or points that would be good to share and discuss with us for the benefit of your child. Please do not hesitate to contact staff at the College.

The Resurrection

As we continue this Easter season I am reminded that we are, as Christians, people of the resurrection. Our whole life, vision and approach to everything should be different. We should see life through the lens of the resurrection which is hope born from hopelessness. The scriptures tell us that the Risen Lord makes all things new. As we begin this new term may we have our hearts open to be transformed by the Risen Lord so we can know more deeply God’s great love for us, receive it into the depths of our heart and share it with the people in our community each day. May we be more aware that each moment is a new, blessed and sacred time. Hence, may we embrace each moment, each person, each opportunity and experience and come to know God and His great love for us in the gift of the present.

May this gift of Term 2 be one where we embrace life, receive God’s love more deeply into our hearts and make decisions to live more fully this journey as pilgrims of hope.

God Bless.
