Angair Wildflower & Art Weekend
Start the holidays with wildflowers and art:
It’s showtime! The Angair Wildflower & Art Show is back again on the first weekend of the school holidays: Saturday and Sunday 16th and 17th of September at the Anglesea Memorial Hall.
Young visitors will enjoy seeking out the native animals (in Perspex boxes) that will lurk in various places throughout the main hall or taking part in various children’s activities. They can also try to win one of the prizes in a fauna identification competition.
Features of the weekend will be the colourful display of plants indigenous to the Surf Coast, guided walks in the local bushland, sales of Angair-propagated indigenous plants and second-hand natural history books and displays from local authorities such as Barwon Water and environment groups.
The Anglesea Community House will be the venue for the presentation of nature-themed works by local artists and photographers.
Despite inflationary pressure, entry prices have stayed at $5 for adults, $2 for pensioners and students with primary school children admitted free. And remember you can use the pretty ticket for multiple entry from 10 am – 4 pm on both the Saturday and Sunday. It’s a good economical way to get the school holidays off to a good start.
