Faith, Justice and Learning Leaders' Meeting

At our Faith, Justice and Learning Leader’s network meeting on August 14 at the Brigidine Mission Centre, Sally Neaves joined us to share her work as the Integral Ecology Animator and Mission Ministry Resource Coordinator at the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea.

She shared the Institutes’ Integral Ecology Journey which is based on the 7 goals of the Laudato SI Action Plan.

“The urgent challenge to protect our common home includes a concern to bring the whole human family together to seek a sustainable and integral development, for we know that things can change.” Laudato Si 13

ISMAPNG’s Integral Ecology Plan is to develop of culture of integral ecology across and within the institute using a regenerative design framework and the three horizon’s framework. To do this, ISMAPNG has created an Integral Ecology Policy which links to all their policies. The policy provides a framework to develop policies, program and procedures which will contribute to achieving their overarching objectives.

Sally shared the practical examples of this work which was deeply inspiring for our school leaders. We intend to continue this work with another network meeting later this year.
