Sun Smart: Term 4

As we gear up for the start of Term 4, we would like to take a moment to remind you about the importance of sun protection for our students. With the weather getting warmer and the sun shining brighter, it is crucial that we prioritise the safety and well-being of our children.

At Gilgai Plains Primary School, we have a strict "No Hat, No Play" policy in place. This means that all students must wear the required school bucket hat when participating in outdoor activities during school hours. This policy is not only in line with sunsmart guidelines but also serves to protect our students from the harmful effects of UV radiation.

We kindly request your support in ensuring that your child comes to school with a school  bucket hat every day. The school bucket hat provides adequate coverage, including a wide brim to protect the face, neck, and ears. Please ensure that the hat is clearly labelled with your child's name to avoid any mix-ups. Students without the appropriate hats will be directed to stay in the shaded areas.
