Nude Food Day Friday 3 November
It is our Nude Food Day for Term 4 on Friday and our community is encouraged to bring food items that are free from single-use plastic and packaging. Please join us in our mission to reduce waste by considering how much packaging we use, including items that can be avoided or minimised with the use of re-usable containers and lunchboxes. As well as reducing landfill, packing a Nude Food lunch also means that less litter is dropped on the ground here at Trinity, helping to keep our grounds beautiful.
Here are a few tips for Nude Food success:
Visualise the amount of packaging that could be avoided by trying out these actions and then imagine the positive impact that this would have if everyone in our community tried to avoid single-use plastic for just one day.
Competitions for Nude Food Day
To celebrate Nude Food Day we are giving away multiple lunchboxes and other re-usable food packaging items. Competition entries are now open and will close at Break 1 on Friday 3 November. All students have to do is write a response of approximately 50 words that explains why they would like to win one of these prizes. If there are more entries than prizes, student names will be raffled and winners announced at Break 2 of Nude Food Day. Students are to send their entries to Sarah Glennen via Teams message to be in for a chance of winning.
Canteen changes for Nude Food Day
To reduce our use of single-use plastic for Nude Food Day the Canteen will have some changes on Friday that are aimed at drawing attention to our food-related waste habits. Please note that there will be…
Students can continue to purchase other food items that are regularly sold in biodegradable BioPak or paper packaging, which provide more environmentally friendly alternatives to single-use plastic.
Junior School Sustainability Group
The newly formed Junior School Sustainability Group is currently undertaking our major project for Term 4, where Trinity students will be working with Millville Kindergarten children to engage in learning and sustainability-based activities. Our students have developed educational lessons around sustainability and hope to engage the children in simple and practical actions to help their environment and raise awareness.
Keep an eye out for future school communications to hear about our progress and to learn more about other initiatives that we will be undertaking later in the term.
