A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Primary Spelling Bee

This term our primary students were given spelling lists to learn in preparation for our school Spelling Bee. We held our competition last Thursday. The Spelling Bee consisted of a number of activities: written spelling, oral spelling, selecting the correct spelling word to complete a sentence and word definitions. This year we included a finalists section where we were able to really challenge our top spellers with difficult words. Class teachers and I were thrilled with the enthusiastic participation of all our students and the improvement evident.

Congratulations to the high achievers

Year 3/4 Finalists: Cynthia Chen, James Bowley, Dani Cortis, Sienna Thompson, Billie Peach & Hayden Stockwell.

Year 5/6 Finalists: Caleb Iffland, Ayla O’Rance, Shivansh Madan, Olive Dillon, Hope Irvine & Rosie Lee.

Year 3/4 Champion Speller for 2023: Dani Cortis

Year 5/6 Champion Speller for 2023: Rosie Lee

Year 3/4 Consistent Effort Award:  James Bowley

Year 5/6 Consistent Effort Award:  Shivansh Madan

Term 3 Reflection

As the term draws to an end it is appropriate to reflect on our achievements. We have had a productive term with all students showing positive learning growth. A particular highlight for me is that the Kinder students are exceeding the diocesan expectations for reading growth and also the amazing Writing results our students achieved in Naplan. We continue to strive to help our students be safe, cared for and respected; so they can learn to their full potential. The wellbeing of our students is a high priority which is the reason we adopted the The Posi Schools program once again. This program was completed enthusiastically by all classes and the socks each student received have brightened up our sports day!

Thank you to our dedicated staff for your passion for helping our students;

Thank you to our students for trying your best;

Thank you to our parents for your continued support.
