End-of-term highlights

Gandhi House

I am pleased to report that Gandhi House had an outstanding performance at the recent ‘Battle of the Bands’ event. The Gandhi Band secured the runner-up position in the House Competition segment, which is an excellent achievement given how close the final results were. Special thanks to all 11 members of the band for the time and effort they put into preparing and for being the first House to play on the night, ensuring the bar of the evening was set high. Well done, everyone!

I'd also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the parents who came out to support us on the night. Your presence and energy were palpable and our students in the band fed off that enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see such strong community support.

It is wonderful to see Gandhi House to be back on top, especially after narrowly missing the top spot last term. It's a testament to the hard work, talent and unity within our House. Given these results, we're in an excellent position to finish strong and take the House Cup at the end of the year. Your efforts and dedication to excellence do not go unnoticed!

A reminder to parents: if your children have any tokens at home, please do encourage them to bring them in for the start of Term Four. Every token counts and the competition between the houses is hotting up for the final term. These tokens contribute to our overall house points, and every single point counts. Thank you for your continued support. Let's work together and keep up the good work!

Lincoln House

It has been an amazing two weeks for Lincoln, ending Term Three with the ‘Battle of the Bands’ win. It was a great event with live music from student bands and House bands, with each House writing an original song to perform.

I would like to extend a big thank you to all of the Lincoln band members who gave up so much of their time during lunchtimes and after school for practice sessions. It was absolutely worth the hard work and effort. I would also like to thank Tom Sweeney – the Year 12 Lincoln musician and member of the four-piece band No Klue, for writing and arranging the music and running the rehearsals.

This week, our final week of PCG, saw groups completing PCG activities off campus and out and about in the city - a great way to debrief and spend time together before we break for the holidays.

Today we celebrated Mandela Charity Day, and it was terrific to see all of the talents on stage, raising money for a good cause, Anglicare W.

I wish all Lincoln families a happy holiday break and I look forward to seeing our success continue to grow as a House in Term Four. Keep working hard Lincoln House.

Mandela House

It has been a very active and exciting term for Mandela House, with the Parent Sundowner, Battle of the Bands, Interhouse Athletics Carnival, House Week, PCG Activities, House Events, and the Mandela Charity Day. I would just like to congratulate and extend a huge thanks to all students for a fantastic term. We are very proud of all you have done and your hard work.

Last week, our talented students in Mandela worked tirelessly and spent many lunches and recesses to produce an original song, then perform it in front of everyone in the Battle of the Bands. Students did an outstanding job. Well done to Lincoln on the win.

In the realm of academics, Mandela House continues to shine bright. Our Year 12 students have been diligently preparing for exams and undertaking world of work week. Good luck to all students on their final stretch of their school lives.

In the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie, our House organised a memorable Charity Event held today. Our students came together to collect donations for Anglicare WA, demonstrating our commitment to making a positive impact in our community. The event was fantastic, and it was great to see everyone getting involved.

I would like to wish everyone a great holiday. Let's continue to support and encourage one another. Have a relaxing time and recharge the batteries, ready for a strong start to Term 4.
