Welcome

Introducing our School Counsellor . . .

Mrs Ebony Kriedemann is our inaugural School Counsellor

Hello everyone! I am excited to be joining St George's Anglican Grammar School, where my mission will be to empower and guide the incredible youth and adolescents who I will have the privilege of working with as St George’s students. As the School Counsellor, my primary goal will be to create a space where each student feels comfortable and truly heard.

My counselling style is about striving to make therapy approachable. I believe in a warm, gentle and compassionate approach that's centred on you as the student. My plan is to manage relaxed, conversational sessions where you lead the way. Sometimes, we might add a touch of humour, stories, or creative techniques – whichever way best resonates with you.

I am trained and equipped to work in a range of therapeutic interventions and presentations. I bring extensive experience working with youth and adolescents in a variety of private practice settings and I am excited to be moving into a School Counselling role.

It is my goal to ensure that students feel safe and are comfortable speaking to me about what ever might be on their mind. I have a natural empathy for others, and I am most definitely passionate about helping each student to discover their inner strengths and values while working toward accomplishing their goals. It will be a privilege for me to provide a safe space for vulnerability and courage as we journey together to help make your journey through life and school a more positive one.

Remember, I am not just a counsellor however; I am a fellow human who understands the challenges of our fast-paced world, and I understand that sometimes we really do just need someone to talk to.

I wholeheartedly believe that counselling is for everyone, and no concern is too small or too daunting. Talking about what is on your mind, big or small, is a vital step towards improving your well-being and mental health.

I am thrilled to be able to support the staff and students of St George’s and I look forward to meeting you all very soon.

I will be working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays and commence on Tuesday 10 October - the first day of Term Four.
