Unearthed!

Aramis Surtees (above)

Year 10

Teachers and school friends know him as Aramis, but to national radio station Triple J he is Young Sabre, a hip-hop act. Aramis has been recognised by the radio station for his original music and the way he applied for its annual Unearthed competition. When promoting Unearthed, which discovers and shares new Australian music, Triple J named Young Sabre (Aramis) as one of nine examples of how other aspiring artists should apply for the competition. Aramis, who records music with his brother Mason, alongside a team of producers including Rushour, released an album titled Me V Industry. His favourite track "How It Goes'' depicts the struggles of a young artist torn between fame and a normal childhood. On Triple J's website, Young Sabre is likened to Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar and Dro Kenji. Aramis is certainly going places. Watch this space for all that he might well go on to achieve within the music industry.
