From Principal Steve - Student Class Placement 2024

As we welcome students back to school in Term 4 2023, our leadership team, classroom teachers and support staff will begin work to collaboratively develop student class lists for the 2024 school year.

If there is anything that you feel we should know about your child when creating classes for 2024, please provide written feedback to this email address brighton.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Your feedback should focus on the learning needs of your child. Please highlight educational strengths, concerns and/or needs of your child and their associated class placement for 2024.

Please note: We would ask that you do not list students you do not want in your child’s class next year unless there are exceptional reasons why your child should not be in the same class with another child. Scheduling students into classes can be incredibly challenging when parents request that certain students not be placed in the same class as their child. Students also need to learn to work with other students who may not be friends, just like we do as adults in our workplace.

Please also bear in mind that we cannot guarantee all requests will be accommodated due to the complexity of creating balanced, heterogeneous classes.

This information should be communicated by email including the subject line ‘Class Placements 2024’. We would ask that you send this email correspondence by Monday 16th October 2023.

Our Student Wellbeing Coordinator, Heather Jenkins will be coordinating the student class placement process for 2024.
