The Term That Was...

Wow - it is amazing to be typing this article at the end of Term 3. Although only being 9 weeks in length we have managed to fit so much into the term including:

  • Responsible Pet Ownership incursion (F-2)
  • Book Week parade and performance
  • District and divisional athletics carnivals
  • Choose Your Own Adventure afternoon
  • Hands on Science incursion (F-2), just to name a few of the events.

Today as a finale we also had a Footy Colours Day where there were many people dressed in the colours of their favourite football team from various codes. In the middle session of the day the students participated in various football related activities in house colour groups. All students were highly engaged and participated with with enthusiasm. The groups ranged all the way from our Foundation students right up to Year 6, which provided many cooperative opportunities to work with students from all classes across the school.

A big thank you to Mr Hoyer and our House leaders for organising and leading the activities.

Term 4 Preparation

This week each of the teachers had a dedicated planning day in their Professional Learning Teams in preparation for Term 4. There was a lot of preparation and discussion to ensure the learning experiences for our students are thoroughly thought out and meet the diverse learning needs of our students for next term.

Term 4 is an 11 week term, which sounds long but it will fly, like the year has already.

Our Year 6 students have one more term of their primary schooling so it will be a hard working term for them in particular to ensure they are prepared for the transition into secondary schooling next year.

Glasses for Kids

A final reminder that the Glasses for Kids staff, including trained optometrists, will be visiting our school on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October to conduct initial vision screening of students from Foundation to Year 3 who have completed the consent form and questionnaire, either online or in paper format.

Registrations have technically closed but I believe you can still complete the online process. This is a great opportunity to receive a free vision assessment for your child/ren and is highly recommended that as many children participate as possible.

Please contact the school if you require any further information or need assistance registering, or refer to the brochures below.

Paper copies of the consent form and information brochure are available at the office if preferred.

We look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces when we return to school after the much deserved break. School resumes on Monday 6th October.

Have a wonderful break with your families.
