Reminder: Mobile Phones in Schools

Please note this ban also includes any personal communication device that may connect to a mobile phone, or is designed to make/receive calls or messages, including smartwatches.

A reminder that the Department of Education has in place a mobile phone ban that requires students who bring mobiles phones to school to have them switched off and securely put away during school hours. The ban applies equally to all government schools right across the state.

At Essendon North Primary School classroom teachers will direct students to store their phones in a locked filing cabinet or draw in their classroom as supervised by the classroom teacher, or taken to the school office for secure storage during the school day.

I ask for the support of all our families, staff and students in continuing to support the implementation of this policy in our school.
