SAFETY REMINDER- PLEASE USE THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING - MT MORTON RD
It has come to our attention that there are some students trying to cross the busy four-lane intersection at the corner of Mt Morton Rd, rather than using the designated pedestrian crossing just a few metres away. This is extremely dangerous and has already led to a number of close calls in the past week.
For their safety, and the safety of drivers navigating this area, we ask all students and families to please always use the pedestrian crossing. A few extra steps can make all the difference in keeping everyone safe.
We particularly ask parents and carers dropping off their children on Mt Morton Rd to please remind them about this important safety expectation and encourage them to choose the safe crossing point every time.
PLEASE KEEP NEIGHBOURS DRIVEWAYS CLEAR
We know that traffic backs up around our school during peak drop-off and pick-up times. Unfortunately, this has led to some situations where nearby residents’ driveways are being blocked, preventing them from entering or exiting their properties.
Our school values its relationship with the local community, and we’ve taken steps to try to ease congestion by funding the turning lane at the entrance. We rely on everyone’s cooperation to help things to flow more smoothly.
When waiting to enter the school, especially if you are turning left into the property, please be mindful to leave space for driveways. Avoid queuing across them, even if traffic is busy. These small courtesies make a big difference in maintaining positive neighbourly relationships and help to ensure that everyone can move safely through the area.
