and out and about!

Grade 3- Wildlife at Moonlit Sanctuary!

The Grade 3 students had an amazing day at Moonlit Sanctuary, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather after such a windy weekend!

Guided in small groups, the students explored the Woodland Track, meeting kookaburras, wombats, and wallabies along the way. On the Main Track, they discovered all sorts of reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitats, and in the sanctuary’s flight area, they were wowed by majestic birds of prey and bright, colorful native australian birds.

The biggest smiles came during the Wallaby Walk, where students got to hand-feed free-roaming kangaroos and wallabies — a truly unforgettable experience! They also spotted koalas, emus, and lots of other Aussie wildlife throughout the sanctuary.

It was a fantastic day full of fun, learning, and close encounters with some of Australia’s most beloved animals. The excursion sparked curiosity, respect, and plenty of laughter, giving our students a hands-on appreciation for the amazing ecosystems that support our native wildlife.

Grade 1 Gets Full STEAM Ahead!

Grade 1 students had a great day exploring forces and energy during the Full STEAM Ahead incursion! From electricity and magnetism to gravity, friction, and wind energy, the students discovered how these invisible forces shape our world and influence the movement of objects — all through hands-on experiments and exciting exploration.

The highlight of the day was when students designed, built, and refined their very own race cars. Using their newfound knowledge and a big dose of creativity, they worked together to tackle challenges, test their designs, and optimise their cars for the best possible performance. Teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of giggles made the activity both educational and incredibly fun!

It was a fantastic opportunity for our young learners to experience science in action, develop their creativity, and see firsthand how energy and forces make the world go round — literally!

Grade 2 Become Mini Bosses!

Grade 2 students had an exciting day stepping into the shoes of game designers during the Mini Boss Incursion! The program gave them the chance to brainstorm, prototype, and build their very own arcade games from scratch — a true hands-on design adventure.

A special focus on sustainability encouraged students to think creatively about using recycled and eco-friendly materials in their game construction. Working in teams, the students discovered their unique strengths, collaborated to solve problems, and brought their imaginative game ideas to life.

The day ended with a showcase event, where students proudly presented their creations to their classmates — and maybe even the wider school community. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate creativity, teamwork, and a little friendly competition, all while learning the ins and outs of game design!

Grade 4–6 Students Attend Dolly’s Dream Bully Workshop

Our upper primary students recently participated in the Dolly’s Dream Bully Workshop, a meaningful program designed to raise awareness about bullying and build positive, supportive school communities.

During the workshop, students learned to distinguish between playful banter and harmful bullying behaviours, and explored how bullying can take different forms in different situations. They also reflected on the real impact bullying can have on individuals, gaining a deeper understanding of why empathy and kindness matter.

The workshop provided students with practical strategies and support to foster a positive school culture, maintain healthy online habits, and strengthen relationships with peers.

Through engaging discussions and activities, students left empowered to make thoughtful choices and contribute to a safer, more respectful environment for everyone.

It was an important and valuable experience, helping our students grow as compassionate, aware, and proactive members of the school community.

Grade 4 Camp- CYC Melbourne CBD

Grade 4 Camp – Exploring Melbourne City!

Last Fortnight the Grade 4 students attended camp in our great city of Melbourne!

The camp was a memorable and engaging experience, giving students the chance to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of Melbourne city. Over three days, they explored some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and attractions, including the MCG, Sea Life Aquarium, Skydeck, ACMI (Australia’s National Museum of Screen Culture), and even enjoyed an exhilarating ice-skating adventure at the O’Brien Icehouse.

A highlight of this year’s camp was a visit to the NGV International (National Gallery of Victoria), where students experienced one of Australia’s most celebrated cultural institutions.

Camps like this are such a valuable part of school life – allowing students to learn beyond the classroom, develop independence, and share unforgettable experiences with their peers. Our Grade 4s returned with plenty of stories, smiles, and wonderful memories of their adventure in the heart of Melbourne.

SRC leaders

R U OK DAY- 11th of September 2025- Wear a touch of yellow

Walk to school week- 15th of September to the 19th

Hi! We are Josh and Maddy, this year’s SRC leaders. With the help of the Grade 3-5 SRC leaders, we have come up with two events for the remainder of the term that we would love everyone to get involved in!

The first is R U OK? Day which is on the 11th of September. This day encourages open communication and reminds everyone that it's important to support each other. On this day we are raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which provides support to children with Cancer. You can wear a hint of yellow and bring a gold coin donation on this day.

The second event is Walk to School Week. This will take place in the last week of Term 3 from the 15th of September to the 19th to celebrate World Car Free Day which falls on the first Monday of the school holidays. We do understand that some students don't live within walking distance from the school, therefore, we are including students that are dropped off at the park and walk from there in the class tally! The winning classes from each year level will receive icy poles next term!!

Grade 6- Measurement
