Young Hands Fold for Peace

Hi everyone,

With only a week before the Japan Study Tour takes flight, we are seeking some final help in folding Senbazuru – one thousand origami cranes. These will be taken to Japan by our wonderful Year 5 and 6 students and offered as a mark of respect at the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima.

This is a beautiful and meaningful tradition that symbolises hope and a wish for peace. It’s inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki, a young girl affected by the atomic bombing, whose legacy continues to inspire peace efforts around the world.

We’d love for as many students as possible to contribute to this special project. Even a single crane makes a difference!

The details

Who: Year 3-6 students

What: Origami Club

When: First break on Tuesdays (come along after you’ve eaten your lunch) from week 2

Where: Ms Aboud’s Japanese classroom

Thanks for your support,

Jessica Faithfull | 3C Classroom Teacher.

☀️ No Hat, No Play

We are noticing an increasing number of students arriving at PE lessons without a hat. Our spare hat supply is very limited.

Please ensure your child brings their own clearly named hat to school every day. Hats are an important part of our SunSmart policy and are required for outdoor activities, including PE.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe in the sun.
