Year 7 and 8

Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,
As we come to the end of Term 3, we are delighted to celebrate a term filled with wonderful achievements, growth, and memorable experiences for our Year 7 and Year 8 students. The hard work, creativity, and dedication shown by our students has been inspiring, and we are incredibly proud of what has been accomplished.
Academic Highlights
This term, students have demonstrated perseverance and enthusiasm across all learning areas. Their commitment to collaborative learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving has strengthened not only their knowledge and skills but also the positive learning culture in our classrooms. It has been uplifting to see students encouraging one another, showing respect, and demonstrating curiosity in their studies.
Sporting Highlights
This term has also been an exciting one in sport, with many students proudly representing the College in interschool and state-level competitions.
- Year 8 Boys Netball – A special congratulations to the Year 8 boys’ netball team, who competed in the State Finals. Their teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination were outstanding, and we are incredibly proud of their achievement.
- Athletics and Cross Country – Students competed with great spirit and effort in athletics and cross-country events, with several students achieving personal bests and moving on to regional competitions.
We are proud of every student who has participated in sport this term—whether competing, training, or supporting their teammates—you have all represented our school with high esteem.
Work Habit Ratings Celebration
We were excited to recognise students who achieved outstanding Work Habit Ratings this term. These ratings reflect consistent effort, strong time management, and a positive approach to learning. Congratulations to these students for leading by example and setting such a high standard for their peers!
College Play – Alice in Wonderland
A huge congratulations to all students involved in our College production of Alice in Wonderland. Your energy, talent, and commitment brought the show to life and created a fantastic experience for our community. We are so proud of your creativity and teamwork—what a brilliant achievement!
Organisation and Equipment
Organisation is a key part of learning success. We encourage all students to come to class each day prepared with the correct equipment, as this helps them to engage fully in their lessons and achieve their best. Having the right tools at the right time sets students up for success.
If families are experiencing difficulty in providing any required equipment, please do not hesitate to contact the school. We are here to support every student so they can be well-prepared and ready to learn.
SWPBS Recognition – $5 Canteen Voucher
As part of our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program, we continue to celebrate students who consistently demonstrate our school values. This term, selected students received a $5 canteen voucher as recognition of their positive contributions to our school community. We look forward to seeing even more students celebrated in Term 4!
Student Wellbeing
Student wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student feels valued. We encourage all students to connect with a trusted adult—teachers, education support staff, youth workers, or school leaders—whenever they need guidance. Together, we can continue to build strong connections that support learning and wellbeing.
Parent Teacher Interviews
We would like to thank all families who attended Parent Teacher Interviews this term. These conversations are a vital part of our shared commitment to student success, and we value the strong partnership between parents, carers, students, and staff. Your ongoing support makes such a difference.
Looking Ahead to Term 4
Term 4 promises to be another exciting chapter with engaging projects, end-of-year celebrations, and valuable opportunities for students to consolidate their learning. We encourage everyone to enjoy a safe, restful break, and we look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready for a fantastic Term 4!
Warm regards, Junior School Team
