Celebrating the Performing Arts at Sunbury College

Dear Sunbury College community,

The annual school production is one of the true highlights of the Sunbury College calendar. It gives our students the opportunity to be bold, to take creative risks, and to discover the power of storytelling through the performing arts.

This year’s production of Alice in Wonderland has once again shown us how the stage can transform talent, dedication, and teamwork into something truly memorable. The hours of rehearsal, the attention to detail, and the willingness to give their very best have allowed our students to shine- both individually and together as a cast and crew.

The performing arts hold a special place in our school community. They teach persistence, discipline, and collaboration, while also offering freedom to explore imagination and identity. These are qualities that reach well beyond the stage and enrich every aspect of learning and life.

Beyond the stage, the strength of our performing arts program continues to grow. This year, we celebrate 100 students undertaking instrumental music lessons, building confidence and skills that extend from practice rooms to performances. Many more students participate across classroom drama, music, VET Music Performance and dance classes, ensuring the arts remain a vibrant and valued part of our curriculum.

To our staff, led with passion and vision by Candeece Brown and the Performing Arts team, thank you for creating a space where students feel safe to strive, grow and achieve. And to our students, your courage, creativity, and endeavor remind us all of the joy and value of the arts.

Congratulations on a wonderful achievement.
