Mrs Michelle Rassias and Mr Beau Robertson
It’s hard to believe how quickly Term 3 has flown by! We’ve packed so much into these past weeks – House Athletics, our school production, Book Week celebrations, 100 Days of Prep, Trivia Night, and the Father’s Day stall, just to name a few. A huge thank you to our staff, students and families for making each of these events such a success.
We were also delighted to welcome Mr Beau Robertson, our new Assistant Principal. Beau has stepped into the role seamlessly, already learning many students’ names, building strong connections with families, and bringing fresh energy and ideas to our school leadership team.
Looking ahead, Term 4 promises to be just as exciting. Some highlights on the calendar include:
Graduation Ceremony – celebrating the achievements of our Year 6 students as they prepare for secondary school
It’s shaping up to be a fantastic finish to the school year, and we can’t wait to share these experiences with you all.
As parents we often encourage our children to take responsible risks. To try out for the rep basketball team, learn an instrument or attempt a new trick on our skateboard. For my three-year-old, Remi, it’s saying hello to people at parties. These choices can feel overwhelming at first but may lead to exciting chapters and opportunities.
Coming to Donvale Primary School felt like one of those moments for me, and I am so happy that I did. From the first moment I walked in our doors, the families, staff and students have made me feel right at home.
I would like to express my gratitude to every single person who has gone out of their way to say hello and introduce themselves over the past two weeks. It has been so lovely getting to know everyone, especially our beautiful students.
Walking through classrooms, it has struck me how the students of Donvale Primary School are so calm, settled and focused on their learning. I am so proud to be Assistant Principal of this fabulous school and am looking forward to the journey ahead.
The Department of Education has made some changes to the Student Dress Code Policy to help make uniforms more affordable for families.
What’s changing?
Students can keep wearing their current branded items until they are outgrown or worn out – no need to replace them straight away.
What happens next?
We’ll also work with our suppliers to sell through existing branded stock and stop ordering new items that don’t meet the updated policy.
Have your say
As part of the consultation phase, we have created a survey to gather viewpoints from our school community. Consultation will run for a few weeks, ending Tuesday 7th October.

These changes aim to make uniforms fairer and more affordable, while still keeping a strong sense of school identity.
