Cultural Celebrations

Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon Festival)
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, was celebrated on Monday, 6th October, 2025. This important cultural event is enjoyed by many Chinese, Vietnamese and other East and Southeast Asian communities around the world. The festival marks the time of the full harvest moon and is a celebration of gratitude, family unity and harmony.
Families traditionally gather to share mooncakes, light lanterns and admire the full moon together, which symbolises completeness and reunion. Communities also celebrate with cultural performances, lantern displays and festive food stalls, bringing people together in joy and reflection.
We send our warmest wishes to all in our BEPS community who celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival — may your time with loved ones have been filled with happiness, peace and the glow of the full moon.
Diwali - Festival of Lights
This year, Diwali (also known as the Festival of Lights) will be celebrated on Tuesday, 21 October 2025. Diwali is one of the most important festivals for Hindu, Sikh, Jain and some Buddhist communities around the world.
In the lead-up to Diwali, families clean and decorate their homes, light diyas (oil lamps) and candles, and create beautiful rangoli patterns. Many families also pray to Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity and exchange gifts and sweets with loved ones. Fireworks, festive meals, and joyful gatherings bring communities together in a spirit of hope and renewal.
We send our warmest wishes to everyone in our BEPS community who will celebrate Diwali — may your homes be filled with light, joy, and prosperity this festive season.
