School Council
BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED
In the aftermath of the Auburn South Primary tragedy, our school has responded at multiple levels from reiterating our issues to government departments and agencies to taking local action through messages in the newsletter, on Compass and via WhatsApp.
The number of cars that continue to use Albert Drive South has reduced significantly at both drop off and pick up, which has been wonderful to see. It’s great that parents have realised the safety issues involved with using the road at these times.
It’s also been a good education program for our community – as the no parking or stopping law is not a school rule or requirement, it’s a driver’s legal obligation not to stop in a Clearway.
Due to the wonderful work of our School Council President, Kat Walker, we were very fortunate to receive a grant from Bendigo Community Bank in Windsor recently. This grant will pay for a company called Inform and Empower to run sessions during 2025 for all students attending SMPPS. Inform and Empower present live streamed incursions once a term to all student levels on Digital Safety and Wellbeing.
Anna Barden, a long term member and current Chair of the School Council Wellbeing Subcommittee joined Trish Wan at the presentation evening to formally receive the novelty cheque.
Looking forward to seeing lots of parents and carers at the online webinar in early Term 2 2025.
