DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD CAMP
YEAR 9/10
Our year 9 and 10 Duke of Edinburgh Award students were fortunate to spend two sunny, and one 'half-sunny' day at Wilsons Promontory (Wamoon Yiruk) developing their skills in hiking to achieve their Bronze and Silver awards.
The students spent some time becoming familiar with their packs and how to pack them and how to cook on their trangias, before hiking to Oberon Bay for a night in the dunes.
The students demonstrated resilience and persistence, walking 30km over the three days, mostly with their packs weighing around 15kg. They worked well together as a team, supporting each other on the journey and at camp, and still had time to enjoy the sunsets and play football on the sand.
Well done to all the students for their positive attitudes and endeavours.
