STEAM

YEAR 8 STEAM

An amazing day out at Gippsland Tech School with the Year 8 STEAM class, learning about “Life in Space”.

Students got to learn and experiment a range of new technologies and think about how these technologies could be used by astronauts and scientists working in the space industry.

They trialled Virtual Reality (VR) and got to imagine what an astronaut would go through on the International Space Station.

Students also worked on coding robots and how difficult it would be programming rovers on Mars. They all showed a lot of resilience and were amazed at the interesting facts they learnt about “Life in Space”.

YEAR 7 STEAM

The Year 7 STEAM students went to the Gippsland Tech School to take part in the Industry Tech Taster Workshops today.

They completed rotations in Virtual Reality (VR) and learnt about its applications in healthcare, motor vehicle design, architecture, etc.

They were coding robots to monitor building security and deliver items and learned of using robotics to safely explore dangerous situations.

And then created their own musical masterpieces using the Garage Band App.

Our students explored some tech related careers and learnt quite a few new ideas. A great day out!
