Online Safety!

Over these last few years, we have heard about an exponential number of online dangers. The internet has never been a safe place, but the number of ways we can now get harmed online is disturbing. I (Cheyenne) recently attended a conference sponsored by the eSafety Commissioner, who gave me so many resources I am pleased and excited to now pass on to you, the CHPS community.

Swoosh, Glide, And Rule Number 5 is a helpful picture book that you can read with your children. It is especially good for younger children. It encourages the development of family rules of online behaviour and contracts for using devises, there is more information on the eSafety Commissioner website.

If your family is experiencing an online issue and needs advice you can seek help here

For families with students in year 6 (going into high school next year) there is a Webinar on Thursday, November 28th: Supporting healthy tech use as your child transitions into high school

Here is a link to eSafety Parents, for any parents interested in looking through further resources the eSafety Commissioner has to offer.

More resources to be shared in the coming weeks! If you have any questions or concerns about online safety for your family, please reach out!
