Secondary 11/12

Team Leader's Message

Term 4

As the 2024 school year draws to a close, I couldn’t be more impressed with our Secondary 11/12 students. Over the course of the year, I've witnessed remarkable growth as these young adults have matured, developed independence, and honed their employability skills. Their commitment to their VPC studies and their dedication to giving back to the community through Work-Related Skills programs on Thursdays have been truly inspiring. Many of our Year 12 students, along with several Year 11 students, have also successfully completed Structured Workplace Learning placements, gaining valuable experience with employers beyond the school.

A highlight was the  Year 12 Camp to Mornington Peninsula. Twenty-eight students and staff set off on an unforgettable adventure, exploring a range of exciting activities. From ziplining through the treetops at the Enchanted Maze, to a scenic sunset walk along the Rye foreshore, then the next day saw us stand-up paddleboarding, and a bay cruise to spot seals and dolphins, there was something for everyone. We capped off day 2 with a relaxing soak in the hot springs and a well-deserved pizza dinner.  We concluded our experience with breathtaking views of the peninsula from the Arthurs Seat gondola. It was a perfect way to end the year, and the students demonstrated outstanding maturity and respect, both in their behavior and interactions.

On Thursday, December 5th, we celebrated our 2024 Year 12 Graduates at a heartfelt ceremony at the Uni Hill Convention Centre. Each student prepared and delivered a personal speech, reflecting on their journey at Concord School. Their confidence and composure in presenting to their families, friends, and the wider school community were truly impressive. We are incredibly proud of them and wish them all the best as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Lastly, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all the Concord School staff, external trainers, and community organizations who have supported our students throughout the year. Your contributions have been invaluable in helping our students reach their full potential, and we are so grateful for your dedication and commitment.

Here’s to the continued success and bright futures of our wonderful students!
