Principals Report

Ms Stephanie Scott

Welcome to our second last newsletter of the term! Hard to believe we're getting close to another end of a school year!

As you have probably seen on FB, our fantastic literacy and numeracy results have continued. For the 3rd year running we have received excellent literacy and numeracy results in Naplan. Our value adding - or how much improvement students have made from Yr 7 to Yr 9 - is even greater than it was last year, and we have been ranked as excelling, the highest classification a school can receive. Well done to all the teachers and support staff who have made this possible and the students who are taking their learning so seriously!

Congratulations to the school's Ag team for organising a fantastic Northern Steers competition. With 280 students from 18 different schools, it was a huge event. Not surprisingly our students displayed exemplary behaviour and were wonderful ambassadors for our school. Thank you to Mr Jones, Ms Parker and Hughie for all their hard work and Mrs Cooper and her students for their wonderful catering.

Our first Pop-Up gallery was a big success. This was a wonderful opportunity to showcase and sell a variety of students art and craft and was well attended. Ms Olive, Roxy and Amorette also ran a stall at the TSHPMPS fete - thank you, we know that a lot of time and effort outside of school hours goes into these events.

Thank you to those families who completed the Tell Them from Me survey, your feedback is extremely important and is used to inform future planning and make improvements to our practice. As part of the planning process for 2025 all NSW government schools are required to consult with their local community regarding their behavior management plan, which will be published next year. In the coming weeks a draft copy for comment will be provided through the parent portal. Our current behaviour management plan, as outlined in our student guidelines, will continue to form the basis of our plan.

Finally, a big thank you to the Oracles of the Bush committee who made a generous donation to our school library. The school has benefitted greatly from our involvement with the festival, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to purchase literary resources.
