Principal’s Report

Advent 

This Sunday signals the beginning of Advent; the time we prepare for Christ to come into our lives. This week the prayer cloths were changed to purple and Advent wreaths (with candles) were placed in each room. Here is a clip about Advent: https://youtu.be/eC0FGQLBp7w 

 

Week 1 - Advent Prayer of Hope 

Christ our Hope, Shine in our lives with hope and promise. 

Open our eyes to see you in others. 

Help us to be people of hope. We await your coming with gratitude.

Absolutely Everybody End of Year Concert  

Congratulations to our beautiful students on their performance for the Absolutely Everybody End of Year Concert.  It was wonderful to see all the happy and enthusiastic performances from each grade group culminating in the final dance ‘Absolutely Everybody’. Special thanks to the team from Kinect2Dance for the coaching over the past few weeks.  Thank you to Mrs Bourke and the rest of our staff for the way they gave of valuable learning time to have such as successful event.  Donations for St Vincent de Paul raised nearly $300 for their Christmas Appeal. 

 

St Kilian’s School Christmas Party - THIS SATURDAY 

Our newly reformed Parents and Friends are hosting an event, the St Kilian’s School Christmas Party this Saturday 30th November (2 pm- 5 pm).  Fun for the whole family. $5 entry. 

 

P-2 Tabloid Sports  

Friday 29th November the students in Grades P-2 will participate in a Tabloid Sports morning. Details can be found on the PAM permission form.  

The students are welcome to wear their House Colours for the day. They are very excited and have been doing lots of practice during their sports sessions. 

 

Gr 5 - Just Leaders Day 

Friday 29th November some of our grade 5 students will attend the Caritas Australia Just Leaders Day.  Caritas Australia runs Just Leadership Days to engage students with social justice issues and encourage them to be just leaders in their schools and communities for local and global change. At Caritas Australia, it is believed that it is the belief that modifying structures that cause poverty requires personal transformation first. Just Leadership Days are one of the core education components. The purpose of Just Leadership Days is to enable students to challenge injustices and to develop the leadership qualities to encourage others to do the same. 

 

P-2 Gym Program 

Our gym program for our prep, one and two students, starts on Friday 6th December.  All details have been provided to parents via weekly memos and PAM. 

 

Choir Performances 

Thursday 5th December: 10:30 am @ St John of God Hospital 

Friday 6th December: 12 pm @ School Hall for Parish Luncheon 

Thursday 12th December: 6 pm @ End of Year Mass and Graduation ceremony
