Aoife's Message

Dear Families,

Thank you for your support of our professional development day last Friday. As a staff we have been consulting with Catch and Echo throughout the year to consider the social and emotional needs of our children. Last week we worked on setting clear processes in terms of behaviour expectations. Our team is striving for consistency across the school so we can best meet the needs of children and support them in feeling safe and ready to learn. I strongly encourage you to read the Learning & Teaching section of the newsletter this week as Kate J has some updates regarding 2025 teaching practice. In addition there are some valuable tips in the Wellbeing section to support families in working through strong emotions. We welcomed a very excited and happy

2025 class groupings

Staff will soon begin to consider the overall structure of our school for 2025. Please let Kellie know if your child will not be returning to Holy Cross in 2025. This helps us to ensure we can consider the educational and wellbeing needs of all children when creating class groups.

Thank you and farewell

On a personal note I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community of Holy Cross for your support over the last three years. The role of principal is a challenging one, it is also richly rewarding to see data improve, to lead a strengthening of policies and processes, to ensure upgrades to facilities and to lead a staff who worked through many changes both in classrooms and 'behind the scenes'. Today is my last day at Holy Cross, though I will always feel connected to this unique and beautiful place. Thank you for trusting in me. I also appreciated the 'sea of green' that I was met with this morning! Wishing health and happiness to everyone in our community. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Have a peaceful weekend,

Aoife

All students attending Holy Cross Primary School have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.
