CURRICULUM FOCUS

We are learning to search and use information.

VOCABULARY

Validity: How accurate or true the information is. If something is valid, it’s correct and based on facts. When researching, we want to make sure the information is valid, so we know we’re learning the right things.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Choose a common topic, such as animal facts, and find information on it from two different sources. Then, help your child compare the information to check for accuracy. If the sources agree, the information might be more valid. If not, discuss why some sources may not be valid.
