NSWPSSA Team Arley, Dexter, Stella and Felix

How did we already get here?

An exciting start to the term with our Relay team running like the wind in Sydney this week. A stirling effort for all our runners even with a late change with Joshua Anderson breaking his arm and Arley Crowley stepping into his position on the team.

I am excited to announce that a full recap of the students’ experiences and journey will be in the next sports edition written by the students themselves.

So keep your eyes peeled for some exciting reading next week!

Whilst we wait with anticipation for the students edition we would like to thank Luke Urquhart for his dedication to the team and preparing them for these races. Also, kids don’t forget to thank your parents… to the students’ parents (Ebony, Tracy, Phil, Natalie, Daniel, Ben and Rheni) who have organised their children to get to the venues and support their children through this achievement and amazing experience. Well Done!

In Sport lessons we have been preparing the years 3-6 students for the Armidale Diocese Touch Football Gala Day that is to be held next Friday the 1st of November. Students will be travelling to Inverell by bus and participating in a fun filled day of touch football. Please check compass for this event. Good Luck to the three teams that will be attending the day.

This term we are trialing something a little different with our swimming program. In the past we have run intensive lessons in the final two weeks of term 4.

We have decided to trial a 10 week Swimming PE program allowing students to have exposure to the water earlier in the season and a consistent approach to lessons over a longer duration of time. Our aim is to improve our students water safety and stroke correction. The first two weeks we have held our sessions in the hydro pool and the laughter and excitement from the students has given us some positive feedback so far.

Any other feedback you might have would be greatly appreciated. We are always looking for ways to improve sport in our school and our community.

We have been successful again this term in obtaining the Sporting Schools Grant so stay tuned for more exciting sporting opportunities coming this way this term.
