End of year production

 

Dear Gilgai Plains Community,

 

We are excited to announce our upcoming end-of-year production, "The Wizard of Oz," which will take place on December 6, 2024. This classic tale promises to be a delightful experience for our students and families, showcasing the talents of our young performers. Each class will have a specific role in the production, and costumes will play a vital part in bringing the story to life!

Costume Requirements by Class:

Foundation (Munchkins)

  • Brightly coloured dresses or overalls
  • Fun hats or headbands (flowers, butterflies, etc.)
  • Comfortable shoes

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 1A, 1B & 1C (Witches and Wizards)

  • Capes
  • Witches and Wizards hats

Year 1D, 1E, 1F & 1G (Scarecrows)

  • Dress in old, frayed clothing that represents a scarecrow
  • Farmer attire
  • Scarecrow hats

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 2A, 2B, 2C (Tinman)

  • Silver or grey clothing
  • Aluminium foil accessories (hats, arm, and leg pieces)
  • Funnel for a hat (optional)

 

 

 

Year 2D, 2E, 2F, 2G (Lions)

  • Brown or gold clothing
  • Faux fur accents (scarves, vests)
  • Lion ears and tail (can be handmade or store-bought)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 3A, 3B, 3C (Characters from the Wizard of Oz)

  • Dress as any character from ‘The Wizard of Oz’

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 3D & 3E (Sports Theme)

  • Dress in your favourite Sports wear (Soccer, Football, Cricket, Gymnastics, Ballet etc)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 4A & 4B (Witches and Wizards)

  • Dress as a Witch or Wizard

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 4C, 4D & 4E (The flying Monkeys)

  • Dress as the famous flying monkeys from ‘The wizard of Oz’.

 

 

 

 

Year 5A & 5B (The Wicked Witch, A Wizard or Dorothy)

  • Dress as The wicked witch of the west, Dorothy or a wizard.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 5C & 5D (Dress to impress)

  • Dress to impress in your best outfit

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Year 6 (Soundscape)

  • Let’s celebrate our graduating students. Please wear your school uniform and your year 6 Top.

 

 

 

 

Important Notes:

Costume Preparation: We encourage families to be creative and involve their children in the costume-making process!

Rehearsals: Please ensure your child’s costume is ready by the end of November for dress rehearsals.

Volunteers Needed: We would love volunteers to help with costumes and set design! If you’re interested, please contact the school office.
