Principal's Report
Another busy week at WEPS with Year 3 having a day excursion to Warrnambool Wildlife Encounters, Active Sports and Fletcher Jones, and Year 1/2 having a long day excursion to Werribee Zoo. Next week Year 6 students begin their surfing program. Thank you to the teachers for all the organisation that goes into an excursion – I’m sure the students will have a wonderful time.
Our Flying Start program concluded this week; a program to enhance the transition to school and provide a stepping stone to a positive start to school life. We look forward to seeing our 2025 Foundation students on Wednesdays 20th, 27th November and 3rd December for further transition sessions 9.15-10.45am.
Our parent forum will be held on Monday 18th November 6.30-8pm. The link to RSVP is in the Link today. We would love to see you there.
Remembrance Day falls on the 11th of November each year. On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, a minutes' silence is observed and dedicated to those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation. Today the loss of Australian lives from all wars and conflicts, as well as people who served, is commemorated on Remembrance Day.
We will commemorate Remembrance Day at our school on Monday by holding a small ceremony led by our school leaders at 10.45am. Students are encouraged to wear a poppy on this day if they wish. They can be bought from the office. School Captains will be laying a wreath at the War memorial Monday morning.
Yours in education,
Ann Dwyer
Acting Principal
