3/4 LS - Learning together growing together.
Since our last newsletter feature, 3/4LS have participated in many great learning experiences.
Bike Ed, short for Bicycle Education has been a highlight for the 3/4 level this term. It is an educational initiative aimed at teaching students the fundamentals of safe cycling. It consists of various aspects of bike handling, road safety, and the responsibilities of being a cyclist. A big thank you to Mrs Wilmont, Miss Ella, Mr M and Mrs Khoo for getting this initiative started and helping us each week!
Religious Education
Common good and human dignity in our community have been the focus of our Religion lessons so far this term. Common Good means looking out for what is best for everyone in the community. For children, this can include sharing, helping friends, and working together. Human Dignity means recognising that every person is unique and deserves respect. For children, this can include treating others kindly, understanding that everyone has feelings, and appreciating differences. As a class we had the chance to reflect on the choices we make and the consequences of these choices. Students thoroughly enjoyed this reflection process and produced posters accompanied by comic strips to show the good choices they are making to enhance the common good and human dignity in their community.
English
Students used a diary writing format to reflect on their knowledge of early convicts and colonial life in Australia, creating entries that illustrated the challenges faced during the early years of colonisation.
Please come and visit our classroom before or after school to read our diary entries, choices posters and see our many other learning displays!
