Animation
Year 6
In Year 6 Animation, students will explore the 12 Principles of Animation. They will have opportunities to create short animations as they learn each of these principles and why they are used. For example, the squash and stretch technique is applied to give a sense of weight or flexibility to objects such as a bouncing ball. They will apply these skills through free-hand drawing, taking photos through stop motion and through digitally created pieces on FlipaClip. They will study cartoons and learn how viewpoints, ideas and stories are shaped and portrayed in media artworks they make, share and view. Students will create realistic animations for a purpose, using the Year 6 Graduation as a focus for their creations.
