Transition to School 

The transition to school is a crucial milestone in a child's development, marking the shift from the familiar routines of home or preschool to the more structured environment of formal schooling. At St Johns Park Public School Preschool, we support the transition to school by providing a nurturing environment that helps children feel confident and prepared for the next step in their learning journey. Educators plan experiences for children to support a more smooth and successful transition. 

The preschoolers shared a reading of the book 'Where is the green sheep?' To further this interest, we took the opportunity to take a walk around the school in search of a photo of the green sheep. Considering transition to school this was a perfect experience for us to become familiar with the wider school community.

Our walk took us all over the school. Along the way we discovered many sheep characters from the story and marked them off our checklist. We found some sheep at the library, kindergarten toilet blocks, the school hall and playground A. The green sheep was found fast asleep in the school office … mystery solved!!!
