The intention of this Charter is to outline the principles and expectations that underpin the relationship between parents and schools as we work together to build school communities based on our enduring values of faith, hope and love.
Teachers are the first point of contact
To discuss your child’s learning, experiences at school, or to raise a concern.
Parents are asked first to contact the appropriate class or pastoral teacher. If the appropriate teacher cannot resolve the issue or concern, please follow the SCS Resolution of Complaints Policy and the local school process for managing concerns next to the relevant year/subject coordinator (where applicable) before escalating the matter to the school leadership team if it has still not been resolved.
Parents should not approach other students or parents to clarify any issues or concerns
All matters should be discussed with the appropriate teacher who can then discuss the matter with the relevant staff and students.

Student Mathematics books will be sent home at the end of Week 8 to assist parents to celebrate their child’s engagement in learning. Student work samples across the Curriculum Areas serve as a form of formative assessment identifying student strengths and areas for growth.
Parents are encouraged to view their child’s work and discuss the mathematical concepts and strategies they have been learning.
A vibrant mix of lunchtime clubs available at Our Lady of Fatima provides students with plenty of ways to explore their interests, build confidence, and connect with friends.
From creative spaces like the art club, read and giggle and board games, to active options such as dance club. Students who enjoy problem‑solving can dive into chess or lego, while those who love expression can join the choir.
Calmer corners—like gardening, mindfulness, book club, or Lego building—offer a relaxed environment for students who prefer a quieter break. Together, these clubs create a rich, inclusive lunchtime culture where children can discover new passions, develop social skills, and feel a strong sense of belonging at school.

Parents are asked to remind their children who ride their bicycles to and from school about the importance of staying safe on the roads. Caringbah is a busy area, especially during peak times, with heavy traffic and numerous apartment driveways that can pose risks if students are not paying close attention.
Please encourage your child to travel directly to and from school and avoid detours to shops or other locations.
The school recommends that only students in Years 4–6 ride their bikes to school, and only if they feel confident and have a solid understanding of road rules and safe riding practices.
Students entering from Port Hacking Road must walk their bikes down to the school grounds using the pathways. The carline road must not be used by students on bikes at any time.
Parents and carers are reminded about the importance of using our school’s carline service.
Car signs with student surnames need to be clearly displayed and legible
Students need to be able to enter and leave the car unassisted
Students are not to walk between cars and are to use the pedestrian crossing
Please refrain from opening car boots particularly with large cars - school bags should be transported in the vehicle
There needs to be two cars stationed before and after the pedestrian crossing when students enter or disembark from the car
Please drive slowly - 5km- and be attentive at all times with the large number of students using this service
