🌟 Weeks 1–8: A Fantastic Start to the Year! 🌟
What a wonderful start we’ve had to the year! Over the first eight weeks, students have settled beautifully into our Start-Up Program, refreshing our learning routines, expectations, and setting themselves up for success.
🎨 All About Me – Identity & Creativity
This term, our learning has focused on identity – who we are and what makes us unique.
Students explored:
- 💬 “Me gusta…” (what I like)
- 🧠 “Soy…” / “Tengo…” (who I am and what I have)
To bring this to life, students created vibrant Pop Art Hands that showcased their personalities, interests, and individuality.
The process included:
- ✏️ Planning and drafting their ideas
- 🎨 Developing creative designs
- 🌈 Expressing themselves through colour and style
Our Grade 1–2 students were supported along the way and did an absolutely amazing job, while our Grade 3–6 students impressed us with their creativity and flair!
👏 Many of these artworks have been:
- Uploaded to Seesaw for families to enjoy
- Proudly displayed in classrooms and learning spaces
🧠💡 Celebrating Diversity & Neurodiversity (Week 8)
In Week 8, we turned our focus to something incredibly important — understanding our brains and celebrating our differences.
Students explored:
- 🧠 How our brains work in different ways
- 🌍 The beauty of neurodiversity
- ⚖️ The difference between equality and equity
We had some fantastic discussions around how:
- Equality means everyone gets the same
- Equity means everyone gets what they need to succeed
Students showed wonderful insight and empathy, recognising that being different is not just okay — it’s something to celebrate!
🌱 Building Creativity, Resilience & Belonging
It has been a joy to see students:
- Take creative risks
- Build confidence
- Develop resilience
- Celebrate themselves and others
We are so proud of the way they have embraced both their learning and each other.
✨ Thank you for your continued support – we are off to an incredible start and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
