Principal's Message

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to this week’s newsletter. It has been another busy and productive week across the school, with students continuing to show great effort in their learning and participation in a range of school activities.

3/4/5/6 Athletics

A huge congratulations to our 5/6 students who participated in their Athletics Day last week. Your efforts and the way you displayed our school values were an absolute credit to you all. We wish our 3/4 students all the best as they compete tomorrow.

School Tours

Our 2027 Prep tours have been running and have proven very popular. We have limited availability for the remainder of Term 1. If you, or someone you know, would like a tour, please contact the office as soon as possible to secure a booking. Enrolments will open from the start of Term 2.

NAPLAN

Our NAPLAN testing was scheduled to begin yesterday, however there was a nationwide issue with the reporting program, which paused testing for some students.

As the Grade 3 Writing test was completed on paper, our Grade 3 students were not affected by these issues and our testing schedule will continue as planned from today.

Around 80% of our Grade 5 students were unable to complete the assessment due to these issues. Students who were unable to complete the assessment yesterday will complete the Writing assessment today, after recess. Each student will receive all their allocated time in the assessment.

Car Park Safety & Expectations

To help keep everyone safe during drop-off and pick-up times, please ensure you follow these important guidelines in our car parks:

  • Do not access the car park via the small gate near the bins. All parents and students must use the designated path to the drop-off zone.
  • Pedestrians must remain on the yellow painted walkways at all times.
  • Please do not park in the ‘Staff Only’ spaces.
  • There is no parking permitted in the stadium car park unless you hold a valid disability parking permit.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe and orderly.

Curriculum Days

School Council has approved our remaining three Curriculum Days for the year:

  • Monday, 20th April
  • Monday, 2nd November
  • Friday, 4th December

All dates are available on the Compass calendar for your reference.

AEU Strike

As you may have heard in the media, the Australian Education Union has flagged a potential teachers’ strike on Tuesday, 24th March. At this stage, nothing has been confirmed, as members are yet to vote. We will keep the community updated as soon as we have further information.
