Tables Rockstars

We are excited to celebrate our recent success in the South Australian Times Tables Rock Stars competition ‘South Australia Rocks’.

Year 3 – 5 students worked hard to solve as many times tables facts as they could during the two-day competition window. Success was hard earned, and students worked both at school and at home, practising and improving their times table fluency to ensure many wins for individuals, classes, and the school.

Highlights of our achievements include Magill School coming in second place overall, with the outstanding efforts of F14 students also winning second place as a class overall. F14 earned themselves the prize of a $150 Amazon voucher for their achievement.

During Week 3, some of the Magill School students competed in the “SA Rocks” Times Tables Rock Stars competition against the rest of South Australia. Our school performed amazingly, and we had a class come second out of the whole state! That was our class, F14! We are really proud of our performance, and we hope to get better throughout the coming competitions, where we will compete against the rest of Australia.

Our school results were fantastic. We had the second highest total score for the entire competition. We’d like to thank all the classes that participated in this event and all the students who tried their very best - some were even competing at home!

We used the Times Tables Rock Stars heatmaps to show our progress. We printed a copy of our heatmaps before and after the competition. In just three days, we all showed improvement.

All students that competed helped Magill, our great school, get over the finish line. Thank you to all those students who competed and tried their hardest in the competition. Be on the lookout for further competitions and be sure to enter your class and try your hardest. Let’s keep up Magill’s exceptional reputation and Aim High.
