Leadership Report

We’ve just past the halfway mark of Term 2, and if you’ve been wondering what all that fundraising buzz was about… this was the week it paid off. Megamix Fun Day delivered go-karts, mini golf, an inflatable obstacle course, maze and race, cornhole, giant connect 4, giant jenga, and more – essentially a child’s dream lesson at school. Even the cold air couldn't dampen the mood (of the kids anyway...not so much the supervising adults...). Highlights from the day can be seen later in the term when Inside Magill makes its return.
A sincere and genuine thank you to all our amazing families for the donations so far – we are always able to add value to our school as a result of your contributions. A most recent example of that, is our new Primary Playground, which is going up fast. The fence and the machinery on our grounds is triggering unkind flashbacks of excruciating waits for the JP students, who seemed to have waited so long for their playground that it was eligible for historical heritage listing by the time it went up. While that was worth the wait, thankfully, our 3-6 students are being spared from that, and will be able to use the new space very shortly, as early as later this term.
If you haven’t had a chance to donate yet, or your generous, kind heart wants to add more, there’s still time – the donation website closes Monday. Every extra dollar helps us bring more fun, safety, and creativity to our school spaces. Winners (both individual and class) will be announced Tuesday!

A special shoutout to N10, who won themselves extra Megamix time on the day for being the classroom leaders!
Meanwhile, Magill was buzzing for other reasons too – we hosted a Lab School PE clinic, where university students sharpen their tools and get some valuable experience by running our students through a series of sporting stations and activities. Our students, as always, impressed, inspired, and ignited a love of teaching in the next generation of educators. Classic Magill.
Let’s not forget R–2 Swimming in Weeks 4 and 5 – the only weeks of the year where packing a soggy towel in your child’s bag becomes a daily ritual. Thanks to the parents for their support with the whole process - including the added daily washing that's required.
Not that I need to tell you this, but there’s a public holiday just around the corner – enjoy the extra day off, and maybe even a sleep-in if your kids allow it.
And to our teachers – juggling tiring days, fun incursions, clinics, report writing, swimming, regular classes, and everything in between – you are all superheroes. Thank you for everything you do, particularly in such a busy term.
Looking forward to the weeks remaining until our next break!
