Stand Up Project Update and Upcoming Parent Sessions
This coming Monday the 16th of June, Zach and his team at the Stand Up Project are returning to deliver a workshop for the whole Year 5 cohort.
He will then seek volunteers from the Year 5 classes to be our new SUP Leaders!
Those students will then complete an additional session, where they will plan their workshop for younger classes, with the support and mentorship of some of our Year 6 SUP Leaders.
Keep an eye on Compass for further information about our upcoming parent sessions.
On Wednesday the 2nd of July there will be a parent workshop presented by the team at the Stand Up Project, co-facilitated by our new Year 5 SUP leaders.
We would love as many parents as possible from across the year levels to come and learn more about the project, but also see the power of student voice and leadership at BEPS in action!
Some of you may have attended a parent session online that Zach ran through Team Kids about how parents can support their children in the face of Friendship Fires, Mean on Purpose and Bullying (repeated and targeted, Mean on Purpose actions).
Through our partnership with the Stand Up Project, parents at BEPS will have priority access to this year’s online seminar, which was in extremely high demand last year (the session is free, but tickets are limited due to the parameters of the videoconferencing platform used).
Our focus this year is on building that shared language across our school community, to support this, one of our ES staff members, Kary, has translated some of our SUP resources into Mandarin to further assist our school community to strengthen our shared understanding of the key language of the Stand Up Project.
