Assistant Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,
Working Together to Support Our School Team
When parents, carers, and school staff work together, students benefit and do well in their school work. Everyone—whether you're a teacher, parent, or carer—has a part to play in making school a great place to learn and grow.
The relationship between families and school staff often spans many years, which gives us a great opportunity to build strong, positive connections focused on what's best for each child. Students feel more supported, confident, and connected at school when that relationship is built on trust and mutual respect.
You might see some new posters around the school highlighting behaviours that are not okay and can negatively affect our school community. These posters are a reminder that creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment is everyone’s responsibility.
We appreciate your continued efforts to keep respect at the heart of all your interactions with our school team.
Brrr… it’s getting chilly! 🥶❄️☃️
There’s no doubt — winter has arrived, and the cooler temperatures are certainly making their presence known!
We ask that families make sure children are dressed warmly for winter. We will give students outdoor play during recess and lunch whenever possible, so wearing extra layers can help keep them warm and comfortable throughout the day.
Although additional clothing like jackets and jumpers are great for staying warm outside, students may need to remove these items once inside the classroom. To help prevent items from going missing, we recommend clearly labelling all personal clothing.
Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring students continue to wear the appropriate school uniform during the winter months.
Upcoming Student Leadership Workshops with Zach (S🆙)
We’re excited to welcome Zach back to work with our students on leadership development through the SUP (Stand Up Program) initiative.
Monday 16th June: After assembly, all Year 5 students will take part in a leadership workshop with Zach until recess. After recess, selected and volunteer Year 5 students who are taking on the role of new SUP leaders will work with Zach to begin preparing workshops they will later run for their peers.
Wednesday 2nd July :There will be a parent session after school, where the new SUP leaders will present what they’ve been working on. Prior to this, Zach will be at school to work with the students in preparation for their presentation.
We look forward to seeing the leadership skills of our students continue to grow through this program!
Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO) ✖️➕➖➗🟰
The Maths Olympiad is a prestigious competition that challenges and extends some of our mathematically talented students through complex mathematical problem-solving. Unlike a traditional teaching program, it involves a series of contests that require students to think independently and apply advanced reasoning skills. It provides an excellent opportunity for these students to showcase their abilities and be recognised for their efforts and achievements.
This year, a selected group of Year 4 and 5 students are participating in the Olympiad with Ally, tackling challenging problems as part of the four-part competition. Each week they work on problems with Ally. This week, they completed their second round, with two more to go. We wish them continued success and commend them for their commitment and perseverance in this exciting academic challenge.
Competition Three - Wednesday, 30th July 2025
Competition Four - Wednesday, 10th September 2025
