Wear it Yellow Day

Wear it Yellow Day – Thursday 29 May
On Thursday we are holding a 'Wear it Yellow' day. All staff and students are invited to wear their yellow clothes or accessories and bring a gold coin donation in support of Children's Ground.
Children’s Ground is a First Nations-led organisation. Their approach focuses on long-term change, working with each child, each family, and each community, so that children learn, grow, and thrive in communities that celebrate cultural, social, and economic well-being.
Matched Donations – until 5pm Thursday 29 May
For the next two days, all donations to Wear it Yellow will be doubled up to $102,000. This means every dollar you give is matched, dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact and reach of your support. The the FPS community will be able to make a donation via this link to our fundraising site.
Donations go towards:
- Creating books and resources in a child's first language and English.
- Supporting a child's transport to on-country learning days.
- Supporting the employment of First Nations early childhood educators.
Last year we raised $2564 and we would love to match or beat that this year!
National Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week is held annually from 27 May to 3 June. It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, and the truth about our First Nations history, cultures and achievements, and to explore the responsibilities of all Australians to reconcile with their First Nations past.
This year’s theme, Bridging Now to Next – NRW2025, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future. At a time of uncertainty in our nation’s reconciliation journey, this theme urges us all to look ahead, continue the push forward and be guided by lessons from the past.
Across the week, teachers will be exploring this year's theme with their class.
