PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Good afternoon,

We are very much looking forward to holding our Parent Teacher Interviews tomorrow evening.

We have had over 90% of our families sign up for appointments.  If you have not booked yet, please head to Compass, where you will be able to secure a spot.

Just a reminder to all families these are only 10-minute time slots, and it is important we stick with this.

Over the coming two weeks, grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will undertake cyber safety sessions with Project Rockit.  The students will engage in a valuable lesson around how to keep yourself safe on the internet and calling out cyberbullying.

The aim of the program is to build a shared understanding of what bullying is, and how it impacts those targeted.  Students are empowered with strategies to promote a culture of taking action.  In addition to this students in 5 and 6 will explore the challenges of online communication, as well as providing strategies to navigate conflict online.

Please engage in conversations with your child/ren following these sessions and they are a valuable insight for all.

Congratulations to all students participating in the Lightning Premiership last week.  It was a great day out and enjoyed by all.  In addition to this we have had a number of students try out for Sport Victoria sport trials.

Congratulations to EJ W who made it through to the state team in basketball. He will head to the Gold Coast in July to complete. Angus J made it into the top 130 of the State in football, EJ W will go onto the next stage as he made the final 82.  Harvey Young trialled in the cricket along with Harry Start in soccer. Congratulations to these students and others that tried out for squads across the State.

Today we have a number of students competing in the District Cross Country.  We look forward to hearing how they go.

A reminder for all families that we have a Curriculum Day following the Kings Birthday on June 9th.  Students will not be required at school on the 10th, and will return on the 11th June.  A 4-day weekend for our families.  Staff will be undertaking the day 2 of the Berry Street Training.

School Council approved the final Curriculum Day of the year last night, Monday November 10th.  This means that all students will again have the 4 day weekend, as this aligns with our Curriculum Day on the Friday, November 7th.

Have a great week.

Kind regards,

Meg
