Feast of the Most Holy Trinity - Sunday, 15th June

This coming Sunday, 15 June, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, this is also known as Trinity Sunday

Trinity Sunday celebrates the mystery of the Holy Trinity: God as one God in three Persons – Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.

The Trinity is all about love. God is a loving Father, and Jesus shows us that love through His sacrifice. The Holy Spirit is the love that God pours into our hearts.

Think of God as one big, loving family. God the Father is the creator, God the Son (Jesus) is the Savior who lived among us, and the Holy Spirit is the power of God that guides us and helps us grow.

You can use the analogy of water. Water can be ice, steam, or liquid, but it's still water.

St Patrick used the shamrock or three leaf clover to explain the Trinity, It is the one plant but made up of three distinct parts or leaves.

Similarly, God can be Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but He's still God.

God the Father: He's the creator of everything, the one who made the sky, the earth, and all living things.

God the Son (Jesus): He came to earth as a human, lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again. He's the bridge between God and us, showing us how much God loves us.

God the Holy Spirit: He is the power of God that inspires us, helps us understand God's Word, and guides us to make good choices.

Happy Trinity Sunday!

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and collection of non-perishable food items and toiletries

On Friday 27 June, the whole school will attend the 10:00 am parish Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

As part of this celebration, our school will present to the parish the donated items collected to support those in need within our local community.

We kindly ask for non-perishable items that are within their best-before date. Examples include:

  • Canned soup
  • Pasta sauces (in cans or jars)
  • Dried pasta
  • Muesli bars or energy bars
  • Cans of tuna, sardines, or salmon

We also welcome donations of basic toiletries, such as:

  • Toothpaste
  • Soap
  • Tissue packs

All items are stored in an accessible cupboard at the Parish House. The local St Vincent de Paul group (Vinnies) ensures people in need know how to access these supplies easily.

Donations can be sent to school with your child and kept in their classroom until they are collected each week.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support.

Pope Leo's Prayer Intentions for June

June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Pope Leo's prayer intention for the month of June is reflective of showing compassion to others, just as Jesus' loving heart showed compassion to us.

Please try to find some quiet time in your busy day to pray Pope Leo's Prayer Intention for the month of June. Thank you.

That the world might grow in compassion

Let us pray that each one of us might find consolation

in a personal relationship with Jesus, and from his Heart,

learn to have compassion on the world.

Amen
