Parent Support

You, the parents and carers, will be given resources over the course of the year, to support conversations with your children at home. Your school will send home information each term that outlines what your child learned about in class and how you might open up important conversations

Ready to Learn Plans

Berry Street’s Ready to Learn Plans are a proactive strategy designed to help students self-regulate, develop emotional awareness, and prepare for learning. Classroom teachers have worked with every student in our school to create their own Ready to Learn Plan. Ask your child about their plans and encourage them to use some of these chosen strategies at home when needed.

What is a Ready to Learn Plan?

A Ready to Learn Plan is a personalized tool that helps students identify their emotional state, coping strategies, and support systems to maximize their readiness for learning. It typically includes:

  • Personal Triggers – Situations or feelings that may cause distress.
  • Warning Signs – Early indicators that a student is becoming dysregulated.
  • Helpful Strategies – Personalized coping techniques such as deep breathing, movement breaks, or sensory activities.
  • Support People – Trusted staff or peers students can turn to when needed.
  • Safe Spaces – Areas where a student can take a break to regulate their emotions.
