Principal's Message

Welcome to Week 6

As we move into Week 6, there is plenty happening across our school community. It’s wonderful to see students so engaged in their learning and upcoming events.

🏕️ Grade 6 Camp – Wilsons Promontory (Monday–Wednesday)

Our Grade 6 students are heading off to Wilsons Promontory from Monday to Wednesday for their much-anticipated school camp.

Camp is an important milestone in the final year of primary school. Across the three days, students will:

  • Build team cohesion through shared challenges and experiences
  • Develop leadership skills by supporting one another
  • Strengthen resilience and independence
  • Create lasting memories with their peers

Experiences like camp play a powerful role in preparing students for secondary school by encouraging collaboration, responsibility, and confidence outside the classroom. We wish our Grade 6 students a fantastic camp experience.

📝 Prep PEAP Testing – Wednesday 4 March

Our Prep students continue to participate in PEAP testing on Wednesday 4 March.

PEAP (Prep Entry Assessment Program) provides valuable insights into each child’s early literacy and numeracy understandings. This assessment:

  • Helps teachers tailor learning to individual needs
  • Identifies strengths and areas for growth
  • Supports early intervention where required
  • Guides planning to ensure every child has the best possible start

We are incredibly proud of the way our Prep students are approaching these assessments with enthusiasm and confidence.

👵👴 Grade 1 Grandparents Day – Friday 6 March

We look forward to welcoming grandparents and special family members to our school on Friday 6 March for Grandparents Day.

This is always a highlight on our calendar, providing a wonderful opportunity for students to share their learning and for families to experience a glimpse of school life. We can’t wait to see classrooms filled with smiles and special moments.

📢 Important Update: Our Use of Facebook

We are making an adjustment to how we use our school Facebook page.

Moving forward, Facebook will be used primarily to:

  • Communicate key school events
  • Share important updates
  • Provide reminders — similar to how we use Compass

Our school newsletter will now be the dedicated space for celebrating student learning, showcasing images of students engaged in classroom activities, camps, sporting events, and other school-based experiences.

This change has been carefully considered and is designed to protect our students’ digital footprint while still keeping families informed and connected. By being intentional about where and how we share images, we are prioritising student privacy and long-term digital safety.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a busy and exciting Week 6!

Your commitment, discipline and sportsmanship make us proud. We are cheering you on every step of the way.

Best Regards

Warwick
