Year 2 In Focus

On Thursday 26th February, our Year 2 students proudly welcomed their families into the classroom to experience what it’s like to be a Year 2 learner. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase the fantastic work they have completed so far this year.

In Mathematics, students shared a range of fluency games they have been enjoying, including Number Line 3 in a Row and Place Value Battle. It was wonderful to see the students confidently teaching their parents how to play and explaining the strategies they use to strengthen their number skills.

As part of our inquiry unit, ‘All About Me’, students also presented their personal posters. These highlighted their families, cultures, celebrations, favourite foods and other special aspects that make them unique. The classroom was filled with pride, excitement and meaningful conversations as families explored the learning together.
