Parents & Friends Group

Welcome to the Taradale Primary School Parents and Friends Page
We have a stall booked at the October Malmsbury Farmers Market on Sunday 19th. We’ll be asking for baked goods and volunteers - I’ll send a roster out with time slots some time this week and it would be great to have parents and kids to help out on the day. It’s usually great fun and we will be selling our tomatoes 🍅
Tomato stall at school:
We’ll have our annual tomato stall a bit early this year to align with the farmers market. Tomatoes to sale at the school gate 3pm onwards on Tuesday the 14th October (next Tuesday!) we have lots of varieties - I’ll attempt to put together a list and we’ll have info on the day.
Thank you to the chook and duck group for caring for our flock. We have an auto door arriving soon to give us a back up against fox attacks. The girls are free ranging in the orchard during the day so please feel free to visit (and be sure to shut the gate)
We have our final working bee at school Saturday 18th October. All welcome. Some 2026 prep families might come along as well so it would be great to have a good group of TPS families to welcome them and get to know our preps for next year. We’ll be mulching, weeding and, excitingly, planting lots and lots of everlastings and billy buttons that the students have grown from seed. Please come along and help us create a wildflower garden. Soup and morning tea provided. RSVP in the WhatsApp group.
Thanks to parents who have been watering. If you think you have the capacity to help to water the garden that would be amazing - you can text me 0409584784 or put a message in the parents what’s app group
Garden club has changed this term to Tuesday afternoons 2:30ish - 3:30. All welcome.
The final working bee for the year is Sunday 19 October 9.30-12.00, all welcome
Breakfast club is currently happening Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - big thanks to our volunteers for keeping this going. We'd still love to have breakfast club on the other days so let Chris know if you can help out.

Please refer to the below poster for updated garden club information.
The term's working bee - the final one for the year is Sunday 19 October. we'd love to see lots of people attend to keep our school looking wonderful.
SCHOOL WISH LIST:
In collaboration with the School Council we have come up with a Wishlist of jobs that we need help with at school and some items that could be donated. If you think you might have the skills or the items we need please let us know. You will be showered with thanks and appreciation! Please let Chris know if you can help
We need to:
Mowing
- at this time of year we have lots of mowing and would welcome some help. The school has a motor mower and a whipper snipper and Chris can bring in his ride on mower
Fix up our sports shed:
- install a solar light
- Replace some damaged weather boards
- re-paint the outside
- put together and install shelves (we might need to decide what is needed and then seek donations of shelves or get someone to price them so we can fundraise)
- Fix the climbing wall - *David is doing this but might be able to use a spare pair of hands. This involves replacing the ply with marine ply and checking and reinstalling handholds. This needs to be done fairly urgently before our next OH and S inspection, or we may be asked to remove it. It is a very beloved fixture of our playground that the kids use so we want to make sure we don’t lose it
- We need tools for outdoor investigations (hammers, trowels, handsaws - good quality) Happy to take second-hand if in good condition
- Garden tools (also good quality) spades, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, hand trowels, etc. Happy to take second-hand if in good condition
- We would like to turn one of the storerooms near the sandpit into a workshop / tool-shed for the students to use. The space needs a big clean out and a fit out (open to fit out suggestions)
- If anyone has or wants to make a largish A frame blackboard that we can use at the front gate to replace our sad current one that would be great!
- Assemble a small shed for gardening tools. We have one, but need a clever person to take it from flat pack to functional
