From the Principal

It is our last week of Term 4 and we end with much excitement as we look forward to Christmas and the joy of family time together and the reminder of God’s love for us shown through His son.

In Nehemiah 7, after the broken city wall was rebuilt, Nehemiah appointed gatekeepers, singers, and Levites. He knew that finishing the wall was not the end—it was the beginning of stewardship. The people were counted, organised, and entrusted with responsibility. Protection and responsibility went hand in hand.

As a school community, we too are called not only to build but to guard what God has entrusted to us. Building and guarding is done through people who take on the responsibility given them. Part of the joy of stepping up and fulfilling our responsibility is also the chance to rest after a good work is done. I pray for each family that over this holiday period you’ll be able to enjoy a deep rest and be restored, ready to engage again next year.

As you plan for your holiday period with family and friends, I encourage you to take the time to connect or re-connect with church this Christmas. Please find in the local churches page of the newsletter a range of Christmas services you may be interested in attending.

Parent Testimonials

We are deeply grateful to our parents for the vital role you play in the life of our College. Your encouragement of our staff and the way you share positive experiences with others helps make our College more than a place of learning—it makes it a true community. Recently, a group of parents generously shared their reflections on what the College means to them. Their words are both uplifting and affirming, and we invite you to view these filmed reflections here

Staffing Updates

Mr Jack Hinds has recently joined the College Administration team as our Excursion Liaison Officer. We are very thankful for his assistance in coordinating the many excursions at the College!

Mr Simon Gellert has recently informed the College that he has been offered full-time work at Kapooka as army chaplain and so will be leaving us in 2026 but continuing to serve and support defence families but in a new way. We are thankful for his service in the College and now at Kapooka. The College is advertising for a new Defence School Mentor to support our families in 2026.

As we finish 2025, we are also thankful for a number of teachers who filled temporary positions for us this year:

  • Mr Lucas King
  • Mr Richard Ball
  • Miss Gabby Miller

We look forward to seeing them continue as casual teachers with us next year.

This term we have also celebrated the birth of Esther Aitken, first baby for Mimi and Jordan.

Grace and peace,

Dr Rahmi Jackson
