Principal's Press

From the Principal

Welcome back to Term 4, I trust and hope that you have each had a restful holiday period. This term staff are working through the book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah’s heart for his community and his prayerful dependence on God before taking action. Like Nehemiah, we enter this term with a renewed commitment to build, strengthen, and serve, trusting that God will guide and equip us for the work ahead.

Introducing our new College Captains

We are delighted to announce and warmly welcome our 2026 College Captains! These outstanding students have been chosen to lead with integrity, kindness, and a heart to serve our community.

As they step into this new chapter of leadership, we pray that God will guide their words, actions, and vision so that they may inspire our students, uplift those around them, and continue to help Wagga Wagga Christian College flourish in faith and unity.

Every week we will share the heart behind each captain. This week, we have Sarah Cumberlege.

My roles include Vice Captain and co-leading the Secondary Student Representative Council. I am passionate about student voice, and serving the College and its students in my leadership roles to bring glory to God.

In these roles, I would love to make communication between students and student leaders better, so we can all work together to make changes in the College.

A little about me is that I enjoy music and creative arts! I serve at my church, St Aidan's, and I am passionate about people getting to know God.

Staff Changes

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Erin Harrison has accepted the position of Learning Leader of Creative and Performing Arts at the College for 2026. We look forward to seeing new initiatives and greater support in these areas. Sadly, this means that Mrs Harrison will step out of the Learning Support role, and we will shortly be advertising for a new Learning Support Coordinator for 2026.

Summer Uniform

A reminder that Term 4 marks the transition to summer uniform for students. We appreciate parents help with students to check and ensure the following:

  • Students have hats everyday – hats must be worn by students when outside
  • Summer dress length is appropriately to knee length
  • Shorts length is appropriately at least to mid-thigh.

A reminder that Generocity Church Op Shop hosts second-hand uniform items.

Christianity Explored - St Aidan’s Presbyterian Church

Christianity Explored is a course for those seeking to find out more about God and faith in a small group setting. It is designed to be relaxed, unpressured and informative. Each week there is a presentation on one key part of the Christian message, with plenty of time for discussion and questions.

If you’re exploring who Jesus is yourself or have friends who are interested, this is a great opportunity to come along. We will meet over 7 evenings starting on Tuesday 21st October at 6:30pm in the St Aidan’s Hall, 62 Coleman St. For more information and to let us know that you are interested please contact Daniel - danieljansen@staidanswagga.org.au
